Reflections on Song....

The video by Brad Paisley, sums up technology that we all thought would never happen in our lifetime. It is amazing the amount of changes that have happened since the first computers were invented. They say that the first computer was so large that it filled up a whole room. Imagine our students pondering on that today. Their first reaction would be...unbelievable. But as we all know, technology can be a friend or a foe. It is our job as educators to inform our potential scholars of how to use technology to enhance their learning and not hinder it. That is why we are blogging today. I am looking forward to comments and also posting on your own blogs.

  1. Just a few years ago the cost of technology made it nearly impossible for poor children to have access to it outside of the school. But nowadays a complete system can be purchased for only 200 dollars.

For children from lower incomes, it may be easier in the sense that it is more affordable to have access to online resources. While the internet can cost up 70 dollars a month, it is still much more affordable a learning resource than purchasing books and other props or manipulatives. But the technology should never replace the manipulatives; at least not in the classroom. Rather the technology should be seen as a manipulative in itself.
